WELCOME FROM OUR PASTOR

On behalf of the people of Holy Family Parish, I welcome you to our website. We are developing a new website to be published later in September.

Founded in 1876, we are a strong parish with a great history. Our parish has a promising future because of the generous Catholic witness of parishioners and worshippers composed of a rich diversity of ethnic backgrounds.

Nourished by divine life and encouraged by the witness of one another, Jesus strengthens us to live according to our faith in concrete ways. Our parishioners cooperate with God in their daily lives. his includes serving in our parish ministries and organizations. You can become familiar with these opportunities by exploring this website, reading the Sunday Bulletin, and participating in activities of interest. At the center of our activity is the celebration of Holy Mass every Sunday.

The Church is not composed of perfect people. We are ordinary people who are being perfected by the steadfast love of God. If anyone is troubled by any failures in keeping this commitment, then rejoice that now is the time to begin again.

Are you looking for a church home? You are welcome to join us as we worship the Lord Jesus Christ, learn from His teaching, and strive to live according to it as members of His Church. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about how Catholics follow Jesus.

For over 140 years, we have been helping people to believe in Christ, belong to His Church, and bless our communities. You are welcome to join us.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!

How to join the Catholic Church

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS INTERESTED?

CATHOLIC AND WANT TO LEARN MORE?

The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults is a discernment process that can help participants through prayer, instruction, and interaction. It will begin in September. This process is for:

  • Persons who have not been baptized.
  • Persons who have been baptized in another Christian community but are thinking about becoming a Roman Catholic.
  • Catholics who have been baptized but have not received any other sacraments.
  • Catholics who want to learn more about the Catholic faith or have questions.

Attending these sessions does not oblige you to complete the process, which usually will conclude during Holy Week 2017.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Father Harris (RHarris@archbalt.org or 410.922.3800 ext. 6).

NEW Fall Religious Education Office Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 2:00 PM — 6:00 PM

*** School of Religion and Confirmation Registration for the 2016 — 2017 year continues! ***

Forms are available on the narthex tables, and the Parish Office, and listed on this page..

Parents and guardians, please plan for the School of Religion and Confirmation Class to meet on most Sundays from September 25, 2016 until May 22, 2017 from 9:00 AM — 10:15 AM.

New Catechists and aides are needed: Catechists are religious education teachers. We are planning for six classes  (Kindergarten; 1st/2nd grade; 3rd/4th grade; 5th/6th grade; 7th/8th grade; Confirmation). Catechists are practicing Catholics and registered parishioners who are willing to devote time to form our children in the faith. You are welcome to join us, whether or not you have prior experience. They have a passion for following Jesus within His Church. They are open to sharing what the faith means in their lives and allow children to do the same. Catechists must be willing to participate in formation activities to enhance their ministry. They must be trained in the “Shield the Vulnerable” training program if they have not done so before. Please contact Darron Woodus (see contact information above).

PREPARING YOUTH FOR FIRST RECONCILIATION, FIRST EUCHARIST, OR CONFIRMATION

The policy of the Archdiocese of Baltimore is that our children must have at least one year of religious education prior to year in which they will receive the sacraments. The usual year to receive First Reconciliation and First  Eucharist is Second Grade. The usual year to receive Confirmation is Ninth Grade.

We can help those who have not received the sacraments during the usual years. Please contact our Coordinator of Religious Education, Darron Woodus (see contact information above).
